  1. 1

    Open it

Install from the App Store and open it: a toolbar floats onto your desktop (drag it anywhere), and a bottle appears in the top-right of your menu bar. Want it lower-key? Turn on the breathing light from the user-guide button — the toolbar shrinks to a 120×6px sliver of light, and one click summons it back.

  2. 2

    Grant access

On your first capture, macOS asks for Screen Recording permission (for screenshots) — just switch VAS on in the list (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording). For web-page capture, macOS asks for Accessibility permission (for auto-scroll) — same steps (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility). Every screenshot, OCR and QR scan is processed on-device — nothing uploaded, nothing analyzed.

  3. 3

    Capture

Pick a mode (Fullscreen ⌥⌘1, Window ⌥⌘2, Region ⌥⌘X), frame the shot → edit in the editor → use “drag-to-export” to drop it into any window. A smooth, flowing editing experience.

Another mode of the same editor: frame-by-frame device animation, plus pixel art for beads and stitch charts — printable charts and machine-readable JSON both come out of it.

Read the text on your screen, mask what shouldn't leak, and scan the intent behind a QR Code — three things, none of them in the cloud.
